How you unlock a badge
After every ride upload the app checks which badges you have now. Some come with an action, for example when you found a crew. The app tells you about every new badge. Rides that do not count in leaderboards do not count here either.
Distance, rides, curves, elevation
The distance badges run in 10 steps from 100 to 100,000 km of total distance. For recorded rides there are steps from 10 to 2,500. The curve ladder reaches from 100 to 100,000, the elevation ladder from 1,000 to 100,000 meters, plus a badge of its own for 8,848 m, the height of Everest. On a motorcycle you can also reach 25°, 35°, 45° and 50° of lean angle.
Single rides
Some badges belong to one single ride: 100, 200 or 300 km in one go, 2 or 3 hours in the saddle, 50, 100 or 200 curves, 500 or 1,000 meters of elevation. 100 km at an average above 80 km/h has a badge of its own. Special cases come on top: 500 km or 5 hours in one go, a ride deep in the night, at dawn or in the depth of winter from December to February, on New Year's Day or on a Friday after 5 pm.
Streaks and habits
A streak counts days or weeks in a row. There is a badge for 7 days in a row and steps for 2, 4, 12, 26 and 52 weeks. More come for 10 or 20 rides in one calendar month, for Saturday and Sunday of the same weekend, for all four seasons and for rides after 1, 2 and 5 years of DriveBattle.
Places, countries and crew
Whoever explores a lot collects badges for rides in 10, 25, 50 and 100 different places, for 2, 5 and 10 countries and for rides more than 500 km apart as the crow flies. Then there are 13 social badges: join or found a crew, 1, 5 and 10 friends, first post, first photo, 10 and 50 kudos, first live share, first public place and the first crew event. Four badges belong to maintenance and come with the service log.
Bronze, silver, gold
Every badge has a rarity. The catalog counts 46 bronze, 30 silver and 27 gold. Bronze goes to distance, single rides, places, countries, social and maintenance, silver to rides, streaks, curves, elevation and lean angle, gold to top speed and the special cases. Unlocked badges carry a ring in the color of their tier, locked ones show as a gray silhouette. Every new badge gives XP once: 25 for bronze, 50 for silver, 100 for gold, 250 for the OG badge.
Your progress in the profile
The header tells you how many of all badges you have and how many percent of the catalog you finished, plus a counter for each tier. A filter shows only bronze, silver or gold. An unlocked badge shows its date, a locked one the hint to keep riding. The names appear in the language of your phone.
Limited and for good
Only the first 100 riders who reach 500 km get the OG badge, plus Premium for life. The counter of free spots is on the Premium page, after that it is never given out again. The top 3 of the worldwide ranking by distance of the last 30 days wear a gold, silver or bronze crown on their avatar. Whoever drops out of the top 3 loses the crown but keeps the badge for good. Members of the champion crew get a badge too, and it stays.
What your crew and others see
The feed shows your crew when you unlock a badge. Under Settings, Notifications you choose whether badges from your crew notify you. The public profile at drivebattle.com/u/Name shows only the unlocked badges, never routes, zones, vehicles or single rides.
