Save, share and discover places: favorites in DriveBattle

You keep riding to the same places, a viewpoint or a bike meet. In DriveBattle for Android you save them once as a favorite. Favorites belong to your account, and one tap starts the navigation. Places from Google Maps go straight into route preview through the share menu.

Save a favorite

In the Drive tab, tap "Where to?" and search for the place. The search runs on DriveBattle's own servers and finds places worldwide, including race tracks, landmarks and streets with a house number. Every result has a star. One tap on it saves the place as a favorite without starting the navigation. A tap on the row opens the route preview. You can also add places with "Add favorite".

Category and description

With "Edit favorite" you give each place a category, for example "Viewpoint", "Dream road", "Bike meet", "Car meet", "Lake / nature" or "Food", and a description if you like. The category helps you sort, and it matters later when you make a place public.

Quick access above the search

A row of tiles sits above the search. "Home" and "Work" always come first, followed by up to 12 favorites that you pin yourself with "Add". A tap navigates, a long press opens the management: change home or work, unpin a pinned favorite. The favorite itself stays. If you delete it on another device, its tile disappears too.

The same on every device

Favorites are stored on your account. If you switch phones or sign in on a second device, you find the same list. You change the order by dragging. Each device remembers on its own which favorites are pinned to the quick access row.

Share places from other apps

DriveBattle appears in Android's share menu, for example in Google Maps, OpenStreetMap or Komoot. You tap share and choose DriveBattle, and the app opens the route preview for that place. No typing coordinates, no copying links. Links that carry only an address are resolved too, through DriveBattle's own geocoder. If the app cannot find the place, it says so and does not navigate to an invented position.

Discover places

You can make a favorite public, with a category, a description and photos. It is then visible to all users in the places list, with your name. "Home" and "Work" are never public. Under "Discover places" you see public places nearby or worldwide, filter by category and sort by "Top", "Nearest" or "New". "Upvote" rates a place, "Add to my favorites" copies it to your list. Anyone can upload photos to a public place, and the photo with the most votes becomes the cover.

What it costs

Places and favorites are not Premium features. This page describes the Android app.
