Maintenance by app: reminders for oil, chain and inspection

You ride, DriveBattle keeps count. For each vehicle you set up maintenance items with an interval, the odometer moves along with your rides, and the app tells you before something is due. It works for motorcycle and car.

How to set up maintenance

Open "Vehicles" in the settings. As long as nothing is set up, the vehicle card says "Set up maintenance". You enter your current odometer reading once and tap "Activate". From then on the odometer rises with every recorded ride. If it drifts from your dashboard, you correct it with "Adjust odometer".

Reminders that fit the vehicle

During setup DriveBattle suggests reminders for the vehicle type. For a motorcycle these are "Lube chain", "Clean & tension chain", "Oil change", "Brake fluid", "Tire check" and "Vehicle inspection (TÜV)", for a car "Oil change", "Inspection", "Brake fluid", "Tire check" and "Vehicle inspection (TÜV)". For many vehicles manufacturer data adds items such as "Valve clearance", "Spark plugs", "Air filter" or "Coolant", and the app shows where the values come from. You add your own items with "Add reminder", up to 30 per vehicle. You can change every value before saving.

Kilometres or months, whichever comes first

Each reminder has an interval in km, in months or in both. With both, whichever comes first counts. The "Next maintenance" card shows the item that is up next, with a progress bar. The list shows for every item how many km or how much time are left, or "Due now", plus the date it was last done.

When DriveBattle alerts you

At 90 percent of the interval DriveBattle sends a notification with the item, the vehicle and the km or days that remain. A second one follows when the item is due. In between it stays quiet. The check runs when a ride is uploaded. A tap on the notification opens the vehicle's maintenance, and it goes only to you, not to your crew. You can switch it off under "Notifications" with "Maintenance due". The vehicle card also shows a badge with the number of items that are due, and the "Drive" tab shows a red line "Maintenance due" with the vehicle.

Log it as done

After the workshop visit you tap "Done" on the item. Date and odometer are prefilled with today and the current reading, and you can change both. There are also "Cost (optional)" and "Note (optional)". The interval restarts from the value you enter. Every entry sits in the vehicle's "Service log", even if you delete the item later. Anyone who looks after their vehicle also collects care badges.

Guidelines, not rules

The intervals are non-binding guidelines. Your vehicle's service booklet and manual are what counts. Maintenance is not a Premium feature.
