How to open the live map
Open the Crews tab and switch to "Live". The map shows every crew member who is driving as a round marker with an initial and, if they share their speed, the km/h. At the top you see how many drivers are out. Below, the app lists each driver with their speed, if they share it. Tap a name and the map centers on that person, "Show all" brings the whole group back into view. When you first open it, the map fits all drivers. After that your zoom stays, even when new positions arrive.
Who appears on the map
You appear only when "Share live location" is switched on for that crew, and only during a drive. The switch applies per crew. If you are in two crews, one can see you and the other cannot. Switched off, the crew never sees your live position. It is off when you join a new crew. In Settings you choose whether new crews get the switch turned on right away.
Privacy zones and blocked people
Inside a privacy zone you are never visible on the live map, not even to yourself. The server does not send the position at all, and the center of your zone never leaves it. If you block someone, you disappear from each other's map. The shared crew stays. If you switched on "Hide top speed", other crew members see no speed from you.
How current the positions are
While your drive runs, the app sends your position every 15 to 30 seconds. The live map fetches new positions every 15 seconds while it is visible and shows how long ago the last update was. Anyone who sends no signal for 2 minutes counts as offline and disappears from the map. When the drive ends, the app deletes the position. The map always shows only the current spot, no trail. It does not work without a connection.
A notification when someone sets off
If you want, DriveBattle tells you that someone from the crew is out right now. Each driver triggers at most one message per 30 minutes, so a short connection drop does not cause a second one. Each recipient can limit the message to motorcycle or car. You switch it on or off under Settings, Notifications. It is delivered over a persistent connection and not through Google.
Live map or "Follow me"
The live map shows permanently who in your crew is driving, and privacy zones apply. "Follow me" is a time-limited location share with one person, also by link without the app, with navigation to your position. Privacy zones do not apply there because you hand out the location on purpose.
