Free and Premium in DriveBattle: what belongs where

Premium

During the beta, everything in DriveBattle for Android is unlocked. After that the core stays free: tracking, crews, leaderboards and navigation without the curvy profile. Premium adds individual functions. This page lists both sides and says for each Premium function where the gate sits: on the server or in the app.

Only the functions named here are Premium. During the beta everything is unlocked.

Where things stand: beta

While the beta runs, every account has Premium. A switch in the code is set for this and will be flipped when the paid phase starts. This page names no date. You see your status in the app under Settings, Premium. That screen also lists the Premium functions, the counter for the OG badge and the purchase button.

What stays free

Tracking with Bluetooth auto-start, crews, leaderboards, the feed, privacy zones, XP, levels, badges, crowns, maintenance, ride cards to share and navigation on the phone without the curvy profile. The statistics of the last week stay free too. There is no cap on rides. Also free are speed cameras as markers on the map, traffic reports with marker, alert and spoken warning, fuel stops on the phone, spoken directions, speed limits in the cockpit, viewing chat images, riding your own rides again and the data export under GDPR.

Premium, checked by the server

The server refuses these without Premium: the curvy profile of the navigation and round trips, colouring the route by traffic, statistics beyond the week and the vehicle filter, the lean-angle analysis, the OBD2 evaluation per ride, riding routes of other drivers, GPX export and import and sending images in chats. For offline maps and offline navigation the server withholds the download addresses without Premium. A modified app cannot get around this. Images in chat may also be sent without Premium if the recipient allows it or the crew owner enables it for the crew. Viewing is never locked.

Premium, checked in the app

These gates sit in the app: the warning before fixed speed cameras while driving, rally corner calls, Android Auto as a whole, race track mode and the display of the lean angle. Without Premium the app shows a locked row or opens the Premium screen. The lean angle is measured for everyone, so nothing is missing after an upgrade. If you lose Premium, loaded offline maps stay on the device, but the app only uses them again with Premium. Deleting them always works. In support, Premium accounts may open five new requests per rolling seven days, other accounts two.

Ways to get Premium

You buy a subscription through Google Play, monthly or yearly. Google Play shows the price, this page names none. The first 100 drivers to reach 500 km get the OG badge with lifetime Premium. The app shows how many places are left. You can also redeem XP: 10,000 XP give one day, 50,000 one week, 100,000 thirty days. Redeemed XP are deducted, your level drops accordingly and the step cannot be undone. If you invite friends, you get 1,000 XP once the invited person has ridden 750 km, at most ten bonuses in seven days.
